This is one crazy movie. It makes you don't ever wanna climb Mount Everest ever
This is based on the first ever climb of the infamous mordwand of the Eiger. It is based on the Heckmair climb in 1936 which is the famous erstbesteigung.
If u read the book "Die weisse Spinne" (the white spider) then u will understand the true horror of the climb

The woman (luise) wasn't very attractive at the begining of the movie. Maybe because of her ancient clothing style or hairstyle. But after some time, I realized that she's very pretty 😆

Watch the movie. Its probably one of the most harrowing films I've ever seen. Its incredibly emotional and down right perfect whenever they didn't have the pathetic love interest on screen. I also never said the movie was "nice". I said it was a masterpiece. The two are totally different.

Why the hell did they have to ruin the movie with the romance? Everything about this movie is perfect except that. Whoever made the decision to put in a pointless love interest ruined a masterpiece.

@therealbangaio I absolutely love foreign films. Unfortunately it seems as though Americans won't see a movie unless there is a recognizable American name combined with the ridiculous budget of a big studio. What a pity.

I hate these silent American trailers designed to trick the audience by not revealing that it's a foreign language film. Nordwand is an excellent film – if an American audience won't watch a film with subtitles, then it is their loss. There is some great cinema coming out of Germany these days – Der Untergang being one of the best films ever – in any language. Don't let subtitles put you off.
